When should I register?
NOW! Register for the ride ASAP. The deadline at this point is May 15, 2010, last year's ride was sold out several months before the ride. They usually cap the ride at a maximum of 3,200 riders and it fills up fast. So don't delay. Click HERE to go to the team's registration page. Click HERE for more details about the ride in general.
Does the team have training rides?
We usually have several training rides to prepare for the 150-mile event. Stay tuned for dates for 2010's training rides.
What should I bring on the training rides?
You are required to have a helmet, bike, water and sweat. You might also want to bring an extra inner tube or two, and a couple of energy bars.
Do I get a team jersey?
You sure do! We had new jersey's made for the 2009 ride - both men's and women's. If you don't have one yet, email us your size/style at teamsugarbee@yahoo.com. Click HERE for the size's available. We also have team biking shorts available for purchase. We'll send you these before the ride.
When and where do I meet for the big ride?
We will be at the starting line at 5:45 a.m. on June 26 & 27, 2010 and take off as a team. Plan on arriving early and be ready.
Where do I stay Saturday night?
You will need to arrange for lodging on one night.Local hotels fill up fast so be sure to call early! In the past we have recommended one of the sponsoring hotels, however last year a number of us stayed in the CSU Dorms. It's a very economical way to go and convenient since it's on campus. Click HERE for more information about all the lodging options - both dorms and nearby hotels. Make sure to mention that you are with Bike MS when you book your room!
I don't know anyone doing the ride, who will I ride with?
More than likely you will find someone who rides at the same pace on the team - either during a training ride or even at the main event itself. There are lots of Sugarabees at the rest stops and the Team Sugarbee lunch stop. Just look for those snazzy Sugarbee jerseys and don't be shy about asking if you can ride with one of them.
When do we take the team picutre?
We will meet Saturday evening, June 26, 2010, for the team picture. Both riders and rest stop volunteers are welcome. We won't know the exact time until we sign up that morning. Since we'll all be rolling in at different times, listen for the time. We'll try to make it later so everyone can be there. Don't forget your Team Sugarbee jersey or T-shirt..
What type of events happen after Saturday's ride?
Team Sugarbee always has a big tent set up so look for the bright yellow Bee banner. There's usually several massage tables going to soothe those tired muscles. So meet at the tent, then go get dinner or stop by the free beer garden. It's a great time to meet up with your Bee buddies or meet some new Bees. And of course there are always annoucements and speeches by the MS Society after dinner.
What happens on Sunday?
Sunday morning everyone starts when they want and we meet along the way at the stops, lunch and the end. There is a big cookout at the end of the ride.
