CANCELLED - Lookout Mountain Training Ride May 21

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Thanks to all of you who have signed up to ride the Bike MS 150 this year. We are so glad to have you. We have around 50 riders signed up to date.

The Lookout Ride Mountain Training Ride is set for Sunday, May 21. Meet up at Tim and Heidi’s home located at 7705 Quartz St., Arvada, CO 80007. We will depart at 8:30 a.m. A ride map and directions will be available then. It can be emailed to you beforehand if you'd like.

RSVP to teamsugarbee@yahoo.com letting us know if you'll be joining us - and if you'd like the map ahead of time. Sorry, but we will not be having a rest stop at the top so plan to bring your own snacks and water - and you might want to bring repair supplies as well just in case. We will end up back at Rancho Walker.

Hope to see you there as we get ready for the main event on June 24 and 25.

Sugarbees, get ready for an awesome training season! This year, we've added a few training rides in addition to the traditional Lookout Mountain ride. Plus we have partnered with Team Left Hand! Woohoo! Because Colorado weather can be unpredictable, please contact us to stay informed of changes and any additional details. Thanks to all the Bees who swarmed over to Tim & Heidi's hive for the training ride up Lookout Mountain on Memorial Day weekend. As you can see if was a BEE-utiful day. The 'big' ride is in less than a month. We can't wait! 

Lookout Mountain Training Ride Saturday May 28

It's that time of year again. Our annual Memorial Day Weekend training ride up Lookout Mountain is  Saturday, May 28 at 8:30 a.m. This year we'll meet at Rancho Walker (Tim's house) at 7705 Quartz Street in Arvada. 

We will depart at 8:30 a.m., ride to Golden and climb Lookout Mountain. At the top, just past Buffalo Bill's Grave, we'll have a rest stop with snacks, water and sports drinks. But you  might still want to bring a few supplies with you (including repair supplies), just in case. We will pedal back to Rancho Walker and if you have time, stay for breakfast bee-ritos and spend more time catching up with your fellow Bees.

Lookout Mountain Training Ride - Sunday, May 24

It's that time of year again. Our annual Memorial Day Weekend training ride up Lookout Mountain is this Sunday, May 24. Meet at West Woods Elementary School at 16650 W. 72nd Ave. in Arvada. We'll be in the Park's parking lot on the west side of Quaker, south of 72nd.  The ride will begin at 9 a.m. A ride map and directions will be available then. 

We'll have a rest stop at the top of Lookout Mountain, but it would be good to bring your own water, snacks and repair supplies just in case. RSVP to Tim Walker at teamsugarbee@yahoo.com so we can prepare for the rest stop. Hope to see you all this Sunday as we get ready for the big event in June.

Lookout Mountain Ride a Success!

Thanks to all of you who came out on Memorial Day weekend for the Lookout Mountain Training ride. We had great weather and got to meet some new Sugar Bees. Now that you have a few more miles under your belt, you're more ready than ever for the main event - which is just one month away now. Wahoo!

Lookout Mountain Training Ride - Sunday, May 25

The annual Memorial Day Weekend Team Sugar Bee ride is this Sunday, May 25. We'll meet at Sportline (6543 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada 80003) at 8:00 a.m. and leave by 8:30 a.m. It's a 44 mile ride to Lookout Mountain and back. Maps will be provided. We'll have a rest stop at the top of Lookout Mountain, but you might still want to bring your own water, snacks and repair supplies just in case. Here's the route:

• Depart Sportline—right on 65th, left on Ammons, right on 64th
• Turn right on Carr (hill!) turn left onto 72nd
• Right on Kipling at traffic light, left turn lane onto 80th
• Head west on 80th (bike lane)—CAUTION—RR tracks on descent!
• Continue west past Indiana
• Left (south) on Quaker, right on 64th
• Left on Easley. Lots of curves on Easley. As you approach highway, before you reach it, take a sharp left, down hill, then right on 10th St.
• Left on Ford
• Right on 19th. Stay on 19th, cross 6th Ave. This will take you to the 4½ mile climb up Lookout Mountain
• SUGAR BEE REST STOP IS JUST PAST BUFFALO BILL’S GRAVE
• Enjoy the descent! Head back the same route. When you reach 72nd & Quaker, turn right on 72nd
• Turn right onto Carr St. and reverse route back to Sportline.

CO Training Ride - Sunday, May 25
