Kelly Walker Student Hive Fund

Fundraising is underway for the
Kelly Walker Student Hive at Colorado State University (CSU). It's a perfect tribute to Kelly who spent her life committed to the happiness and well being of others. Here's more information about this opportunity from CSU's website. Please consider making a gift as a way to honor Kelly and her love of the CSU community of students, faculty and staff.

Give to the Kelly Walker Student Hive Fund

Kelly Walker (B.S., '88; M.S., '91, '02) was an instructor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University and served as the fieldwork coordinator for health promotion and sports medicine. She worked tirelessly for students until her early retirement due to her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. After retiring, Kelly continued to support and invest in students by becoming a scholarship donor. On May 3, 2022, Kelly passed away with her family by her side.

To celebrate Kelly's advocacy, leadership, and dedication to student wellness at Colorado State University, the Kelly Walker Student Hive has been created. In the Student Hive, students can rest, recharge, and focus on their wellness and health. The Student Hive will be located on the second floor of the Moby Arena, right across from Kelly's former office.

In Memory of Kelly Sugar Bee Walker

It is with heavy hearts we must tell you that Kelly Ann Walker, our beloved Sugar Bee, passed away peacefully in her home on May 3, 2022, surrounded by her family and her dog, Alice. We are grateful for all your love, support and commitment to Kelly and for Team Sugar Bee over these many years. It meant the world to Kelly and the entire Walker family.

We will continue to ride for Kelly and for everyone else with MS, and we will continue to fight for a cure for this disease in her memory. We already miss her so much, but she continues to inspire us.

Details for Kelly’s Memorial Service on July 23, 2022 are included at the end of the obituary, as well as where contributions can be made for those who would like to honor Kelly and her indefatigable spirit and irrepressible joy. We love you Sugar Bee!

April 26, 2022

On April 14, 2022, Kelly 'Sugarbee' Walker was inducted into the the College of Health and Human Sciences Legacies Project at Colorado State University (CSU). The project honors former faculty and staff members and their role in building the College.

Kelly is a three-time CSU alumna, retiree, and annual scholarship donor, and a staple in the CSU community and beyond. This video captures what an extraordinary person Kelly is and why she inspires us every day. We love you Sugarbee!
