Thanks for a Great Ride! A Message from Tim Walker, Jr.

Hey Team Sugar Bee,

What an awesome weekend to Ride Bike MS 2016! The weather was great! Thanks for riding. Mom & Pops were recognized at the Saturday Ceremony for leading the lunch BEE STOP for the last 20 years and this being the last one.

Many riders told us it has always been the best rest/lunch stop of any bike event and gave them a well-deserved standing ovation.

The money we have raised to fight MS has made strides over the past few years to research new drugs, interventions, and support programs. This year the goal is to find at least one drug to stop Progressive MS.

Make sure to get your pledge money in sooner than later for the different individual award levels. Our team goal is to raise $100,000 and we were at $72,000 at the start of the rid.

It was great fun as always seeing you at the Bee Tent on Saturday, and at the end of the ride. Seeing Kelly (The Sugar Bee) at the Bee Tent energizes us to finish the next day. Congratulations to all of you Sugar Bee’s on a job well done.

Bee Happy, Tim Jr.

TSB's Last Year to Sponsor Lunch Rest Stop

Well, it's official. 2016 will be Team Sugar Bee's last year to host the Saturday Lunch Rest Stop for the Colorado Bike MS event. After nearly 20 years, we've decided it's time to let another team take over that honor and give our older Bees a well deserved rest. Our hive of volunteers, lead by Betty (Queen Bee) Walker and Tim (Pops) Walker, Sr., have loved caring for the tens of thousands of riders who visited The Bee Stop over the years. So as you visit The Bee Stop for the last time this year, be sure to savor all the special ways TSB cares for each and every rider.

Of course, Team Sugar Bee will carry on riding in the annual Bike MS event for many years to come. And we'll continue holding our annual Bowl-a-thon, Bar-Bee-Que and other team activities in support of the team. You're welcome to join the team. Bee Alive and Ride with the Hive!

Ready - Set - Go!

Well it's almost here...just a few more days until the 2016 MS150. Wahoo! Thanks again for fighting MS as a Sugarbee. Here's some last minute thoughts for the 2016 Ride:

BEFORE SATURDAY
  • Please read your Bike Guide to answer any general logistical questions, (i.e. $400 minimum pledge amount to pick up packet).
  • Team Sugarbee historically finishes strong in fundraising the day of the ride and the following weeks after.  Please get all of your pledge money in soon after the ride.   We have already collected $50,000+.
  • Make sure you have the overnight arrangements made at CSU, hotel room or somewhere in Ft. Collins.
SATURDAY, JUNE 25
  • We leave from the TEAMSUGARBEE starting chute Saturday morning around 6:00 AM. If you have to pick up your packet be at Front Range CC by 5:00 am to allow time for breakfast, luggage, etc.
  • Enjoy the Bee Stop lunch. This is the last year Team Sugarbee Volunteers will be hosting the lunch stop. (More on that later.)
  • The Team Sugarbee Tent will be decorated in yellow and black and easy to spot in the Team Village. We will have a few massage therapists this year in our tent.
  • The Awards Ceremonies on Saturday are at 3:00 pm in Ft. Collins.
  • We will swarm over to the team photo area at 5:00 pm.  Please wear a jersey, polo or Bee T- shirt.
SUNDAY, JUNE 26
  • Sugarbees leave at various times Sunday morning and meet up at rest stops along the ride. We finish the ride with fellow Bees who ride at a similar pace and stay at the Finish Line awhile to cheer and enjoy the end of the ride festivities.
Any last minute questions, post them on TSB's Facebook page and we'll get right back to you.

Annual TSB Bar-Bee-Q June 16

It's time again for the annual Team Sugar Bee Bar-Bee-Q for all riders and volunteers hosted by Mom & Pop Sugar Bee (aka Betty and Tim Walker).

Bring your family or significant other and ONE of the following side dishes to share with 8-10 people: salad, dessert, beans, veggies, fruit or chips & dip. Mom & Pop will furnish the hamburgers, hot dogs and all of the fixings. There will be soda, lemonade, iced tea & coffee. If you prefer some other beverage, BYOB.

When: Thursday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: The Walker Hive at 1410 S. Eaton Street (not Court) in Lakewood. It's located 6 blocks WEST of Sheridan Blvd. and almost one block NORTH of West Florida Ave., east side of street, second house south of Arkansas Ave.

RSVP to Betty or Tim Walker via phone or if you don't have their number, let us know via the TSB facebook page or our contact us form.

We'll be outside, so bring a sweater or jacket if you think it might be chilly. Volunteers, this is a good time to get information about the Bee's Lunch Stop in Berthoud on the day of the ride (Saturday, June 25). Hope to see you all there.
